Culver's has announced the winners of its annual FFA Essay contest. The Wisconsin-based restaurant chain held the competition as a way for chapters to raise money during the pandemic.
The winning entry was submitted by a student from Clyde, Ohio. She will receive a $7,500 cash prize. The runner-up was identified as 'Katlyn M.' of the Randolph Cambria-Friesland FFA. She will get $5,000 for her essay. Earning $2,500 for third place was an entry from Alabama.
The essay contest allowed students to demonstrate their knowledge and passion for the agricultural industry. New this year, students could also showcase their public speaking skills through a video submission.
The program is part of the Thank You Farmers Project, an initiative created by Culver's that encourages smart farming through agricultural education programs.
