The Wisconsin Pork Association is offering two rebate options for producers testing for Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv) in 2025.
Tier 1 provides a $25 rebate to help cover ELISA testing costs, while Tier 2 offers a $50 rebate for PCR testing. This initiative supports Wisconsin’s Swine Health Rule, which mandates testing for PRRS and PEDv for farms with pigs moving intrastate or interstate, effective since March 2018. However, testing is not required for pigs moving directly to slaughter.
Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis in 2025 while funds last. Producers must submit their applications by December 1st, 2025, which includes the completed rebate form, test results for both diseases from a diagnostic lab, and a copy of the veterinarian’s invoice. Producers may only apply for one rebate every 90 days in 2025.
The data gathered from these applications will remain confidential, used solely for PRRS and PEDv prevalence studies in Wisconsin. For further details on the Swine Health Rule, visit the official Wisconsin Department of Agriculture website or use the provided link. Producers can apply for rebates or seek assistance by visiting the Wisconsin Pork Association’s website or contacting their office at the provided email or phone number.
