Survey seeks input on 2024 corn herbicides in Wisconsin

Survey seeks input on 2024 corn herbicides in Wisconsin

By Blake Jackson

Daniel Zhu, a graduate student with the WiscWeeds Research & Extension program at UW-Madison, is conducting a survey to document the herbicide programs used in Wisconsin corn production systems during 2024. Your input would be greatly appreciated!

If you are a Wisconsin corn grower, please share details about the most common herbicide program you implemented in 2024 for the different corn production systems applicable to your operation. These may include factors like tillage practices, atrazine prohibition areas, and whether you produce silage or grain.

For those influencing grower decisions, such as crop consultants, cooperative employees, or industry representatives, we encourage you to describe the most common herbicide program used by your clients in these corn production systems.

The goal of this survey is to compile a comprehensive understanding of herbicide practices in Wisconsin corn production. The findings will contribute to Daniel’s Master’s thesis under the guidance of Dr. Rodrigo Werle in the WiscWeeds Lab. This data will help improve research efforts, refine recommendations for growers, and provide valuable insights for stakeholders.

Your participation is essential to the success of this project. Please complete the survey and share it with others in your network who may also contribute.

Surveys can be mailed to Daniel Zhu at 1575 Linden Dr, Madison, WI 53706. Alternatively, you can scan and email the completed survey to dqzhu@wisc.edu.
