USDA confirms Luke Lindberg for trade role

By Jamie Martin

Luke Lindberg has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the new under secretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). His confirmation received wide bipartisan support, showing agreement on the importance of strengthening global agricultural trade.

Lindberg will be responsible for promoting U.S. agriculture across international markets. With many years of experience in agriculture and global trade, he brings a strong background to this vital leadership role.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) welcomed the decision. President and CEO Dan Halstrom stated, “This is a critical time for agricultural trade and Mr. Lindberg brings great passion and extensive experience to this role.” USMEF is hopeful that Lindberg will play a big part in increasing the global demand for U.S. red meat and other farm products.

As under secretary, Lindberg will work to open more global markets, reduce trade barriers, and support American farmers and ranchers. His position is key to ensuring that the United States continues to grow its agricultural exports and remain competitive globally.

Lindberg is seen as a strong advocate for U.S. agriculture. His leadership is expected to make a positive impact on trade policies and help rural communities benefit from increased international sales.

With this confirmation, the USDA gains an experienced leader ready to guide the country’s agricultural trade policy and work closely with farm organizations and exporters to boost economic growth.
