The University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension is kicking off the 2026 Cold Climate Webinar Series with an informative session on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 12 to 1 p.m.
This first installment will feature Dr. Kari Peter from Penn State University, who will share the latest research findings on Marssonina leaf blotch, a disease of growing concern for fruit producers in colder regions.
Participants will gain insight into current studies as well as recommended best management practices that can help growers protect their crops and improve orchard health.
The webinar is free to attend and will be held online, making it accessible to growers, researchers, and agricultural professionals across the region. Advance registration is required, and attendees can sign up through the provided Zoom link.
This event is part of a broader effort by UW-Madison Extension to support producers with science-based resources tailored to cold climate challenges. Those seeking more information may contact Josie Dillon at josie.dillon@wisc.edu or by phone at 608-733-0895. Covering topics in crops and soils, the series aims to help growers stay informed and better prepared for the seasons ahead.
