The Rural Partnerships Institute (RPI) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, in partnership with the Wisconsin State Climatology Office (SCO) and Wisconet, is hosting a series of statewide roadshows focused on weather and climate awareness.
These sessions will feature presentations and open discussions designed to gather input from residents and local leaders about the weather and climate challenges impacting their communities.
One of the upcoming events will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, with sessions scheduled at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Newbold Community Center, located at 4608 Apperson Drive in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
The roadshows aim to explore how extreme weather events such as flooding, drought, and temperature extremes are affecting rural communities across Wisconsin. Organizers hope to better understand the information needs of residents, farmers, and policymakers to develop more effective climate tools and resources.
By gathering feedback from participants, the RPI, SCO, and Wisconet teams plan to strengthen local preparedness and resilience strategies. The insights collected will help shape future data-driven initiatives to support Wisconsin’s rural regions in adapting to ongoing and future climate-related challenges.
