Beef producers are invited to attend a special educational event on Tuesday, December 2, at the Dunn County Government Center in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
Hosted by University of Wisconsin-Madison Livestock Educators Bill Halfman and Ryan Sterry, the program will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with check-in beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The evening discussion will focus on preparing cow herds for the upcoming winter season while also exploring strategies for long-term herd management.
Key topics include meeting winter nutritional needs, forage sampling and interpreting test results, selecting replacement heifers, and planning for safe and efficient hauling.
To help producers prepare in advance, the Extension Dunn County office is offering one complimentary forage sample test to the first six registered participants. Pre-registration is encouraged by November 26 and can be completed online at https://go.wisc.edu/dx8k2d.
For questions or registration assistance, contact Deanna Wiersgalla at 715-232-1636 or via email at wiergalla@wisc.edu, or reach out to Ryan Sterry at 715-308-6423 or ryan.sterry@wisc.edu.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension ensures equal opportunity in programming and employment. Participants needing interpreters, alternative materials, or other accommodations are encouraged to contact Sterry by November 10, 2025.
