Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Secretary Randy Romanski expressed pride in the state's agricultural achievements, stating, "The census data released today highlights that Wisconsin’s agricultural diversity is our strength."

- Total Value of Production:
- Wisconsin secured the tenth position in the United States, with a total value of production amounting to $16.7 billion.
- Net Farm Income:
- The census reports a net farm income of $77,839 for Wisconsin farms in 2022.
- Farming Landscape:
- Wisconsin is home to over 58,000 farms, with an impressive 95% being classified as family farms.
- The state dedicates 13.8 million acres of land to farming, showcasing the enduring significance of agriculture.
- Youth Engagement:
- Approximately 10% of Wisconsin producers are under the age of 35, reflecting ongoing efforts to involve youth in agriculture.
- The state's commitment to creating career pathways in agriculture aligns with Governor Evers' declaration of 2024 as the Year of the Worker.
Secretary Romanski acknowledged the vital role of agriculture in Wisconsin's economy, beyond the production of commodities.
