Wisconsin FFA State Convention Recognizes Exceptional Members with Stars Over Wisconsin Awards

The 94th Wisconsin FFA State Convention recently concluded, bringing together over 3,700 FFA members, advisors, and guests for a series of empowering sessions, workshops, and interactions with agricultural organizations and companies.

The highlight of the convention was the announcement of the esteemed state officer team and the presentation of the prestigious Stars Over Wisconsin awards, recognizing exceptional FFA members who have achieved their State FFA Degree and demonstrated outstanding supervised agricultural experiences (SAE).

Ethan Lulich from the Mauston FFA chapter was awarded the Star in Agricultural Placement for his exemplary work in his family's landscaping business, where he played a pivotal role in improving operations and contributing innovative ideas. Lulich's achievement reflects years of dedication to his SAE project, and he is excited to pursue agricultural business studies at Kansas State University.

Henry Koerner from the Big Foot FFA chapter was honored with the Star in Agriscience award for his impressive research projects focused on agricultural, food, and natural resources. Koerner's dedication and achievements in local, state, and national competitions highlight his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge in the field. He plans to pursue agricultural education at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

Jacob Harbaugh of the Clintonville FFA chapter received the Wisconsin Star in Agribusiness for his entrepreneurial venture, Harbaugh Hair. With a keen understanding of the dairy industry's needs, Harbaugh provides customized fitting and grooming services, showcasing breed characteristics in cattle. He will further his education in animal science and agricultural business at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

Nathan Seitz from the Pulaski FFA chapter was named the 2023 Star Farmer, a remarkable achievement considering his limited prior experience with sheep. Through perseverance, research, and mentorship, Seitz has successfully developed his own breeding flock and is dedicated to producing high-quality lambs. He plans to pursue a degree in Agricultural Business at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.

These outstanding FFA members exemplify the spirit of excellence and innovation in Wisconsin's agricultural community. Their accomplishments inspire and pave the way for the next generation of leaders and researchers in the industry.
