4-H alumni - become a Wisconsin ambassador

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation introduces an inaugural opportunity for 4-H alumni, unveiling the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Ambassador Team. Comprising recent 4-H alumni, these Ambassadors will play a vital role in supporting the Foundation at events, representing it at 4-H activities and with stakeholders, managing social media, and creating donor recognition opportunities.

The application process for Ambassadors kicks off on June 1, offering a chance for enthusiastic 4-H alumni to continue their involvement. The Foundation is actively seeking an adult Ambassador Program Specialist, a volunteer position with a yearly stipend and covered travel expenses. This role involves managing the selection process, determining individual roles, setting goals, planning activities, providing training, and coordinating Ambassador participation in 4-H events.

Brenda Scheider, Executive Director of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, expresses excitement about the Ambassador program, emphasizing its role in allowing recent 4-H alumni to extend their experience. This team of young adults will act as representatives, fostering connections with 4-H activities, donors, and the public. The Foundation seeks a dedicated individual with a passion for helping young adults reach their potential to lead the Ambassador Specialist role.

Minimum qualifications for the Ambassador Specialist include seven or more years working with youth in an educational setting, five or more years of supervisory experience, the ability to create educational programming, organizational skills, and preferably, a bachelor's degree.

To apply for the Ambassador Specialist role, interested individuals can submit their résumé and cover letter outlining professional experience, qualifications, and 4-H background to info@Wis4HFoundation.org by March 1, 2024.

Established in 1914, Wisconsin 4-H has been instrumental in helping young people develop essential skills. Today, 4-H encompasses diverse programming, including science (STEM), leadership, healthy living, and communications, impacting Wisconsin's youth in both urban and rural settings. The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, headquartered in Madison, plays a crucial role by providing essential funding for 4-H programs throughout the state, supporting leadership, youth development, and community-building activities. With nearly 150,000 youth and over 22,000 volunteers, 4-H remains one of Wisconsin's largest and oldest statewide youth organizations.
