The Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board will have one new member joining its board this year. Justin Bauer of Eau Claire was elected to serve as a director from District 2 in a recent mail-in ballot election.
Bauer is a DuPont Pioneer sales representative and certified crop consultant & insurance agent with Bauer's Seeds & Service.
Growers also re-elected Steve Wilkens, Random Lake, in District 6 to the board. Both will serve three year terms on the WSMB.
The Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board is composed of seven producers from across the state who oversee the collection and use of about $2 million in assessment fees paid by Wisconsin soybean producers. The money is used to support the industry through research, market development and consumer education.
