Cattle care workshop - boost herd health

Cattle care workshop - boost herd health

By Blake Jackson

Calling all beef and dairy farm personnel looking to elevate their cattle care practices! The UW-Extension Dairy program is hosting a comprehensive workshop designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills for proper handling and administration of vaccines and medicine for your herd.

This program goes beyond just the mechanics. You'll gain valuable insights into the importance of proper use and storage of animal health products, ensuring the well-being of your cattle and the effectiveness of the treatments. Additionally, the workshop will shed light on the potential consequences of mistakes during medication administration, empowering you to safeguard your animals' health.

To solidify your learning, the program incorporates hands-on demonstrations where you can practice these techniques under the guidance of experts. A farm tour is also included, providing a practical perspective on real-world cattle care scenarios.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn from and network with industry experts! The workshop is offered in both English and Spanish sessions on April 10th and 11th, 2024, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Hoard's Dairy Farm. Space is limited, so pre-registration by April 5th is essential.
