Wisconsin farm bureau foundation creates board of trustees

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation, dedicated to supporting agricultural education programs since 1988, has taken a significant step towards expanding its reach and impact. To achieve this goal, the organization established a Board of Trustees comprised of experienced agricultural leaders. This newly formed board convened for the first time on March 6, 2024.

The Board of Trustees' primary responsibility is to spearhead fundraising efforts and program development for the foundation. By securing donations and sponsorships, the board aims to empower future generations of agriculturists through educational initiatives.

The creation of this board follows the recommendations outlined by a year-long task force dedicated to the foundation's long-term success. Additionally, the task force advocated for the establishment of a full-time director position, further solidifying the foundation's commitment to its mission.

John Hromyak, the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation Director, expressed his optimism about collaborating with the board. "This is a significant step," Hromyak remarked, highlighting the potential for identifying and pursuing new avenues for financial support.

The board boasts a distinguished membership, including individuals like Jim Renn, Ben Huber, and Kaitlyn Kesler. Bob Nash will serve as the board chair, while Andrew Dal Santo assumes the role of vice-chair. Notably, the Wisconsin Farm Bureau President and Vice President hold ex-officio positions on the board, ensuring a strong connection between the foundation and the broader organization.
