DATCP Opens Applications for 2025 Alice in Dairyland

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is accepting applications for the role of the 78th Alice in Dairyland through January 31, 2025.

This one-year, full-time position offers a unique opportunity to promote Wisconsin agriculture as a public spokesperson.

Alice in Dairyland engages with media, delivers speeches, utilizes social media, and attends events to highlight the state's agricultural industry.

Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in Wisconsin agriculture and at least three years of experience, education, or training in communications, marketing, public relations, or education. Applicants must be female, Wisconsin residents, and at least 21 years old.

The position begins on July 7, 2025, and involves extensive travel across the state. The selected candidate will also be required to attend in-person office hours at DATCP’s Madison office.

The annual salary is $45,000 and includes paid leave, professional travel reimbursement, and health insurance assistance of up to $450 per month. A vehicle is provided for official duties.

Preliminary interviews will be held on February 22, 2025. Top candidates will participate in further selection rounds, including a program briefing on March 7-8, 2025, and the final interview process from May 15-17, 2025, in Crawford County.
