Wisconsin Farm Bureau announces four promising interns

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF) is excited to welcome four talented young women to its internship program for spring and summer 2025. These interns will play a vital role in supporting WFBF's programs and communications efforts.

“Internships provide meaningful opportunities for young people to get exposed to careers in agriculture,” said WFBF President Brad Olson. “We are excited to welcome these four young leaders to the WFBF team and to leverage their unique assets to keep our communications and programming moving forward.”

Brooke Wittrock: Agriculture in the Classroom

Wittrock, a University of Wisconsin-River Falls student and former Wisconsin FFA State Sentinel, will focus on the Agriculture in the Classroom program.

Wittrock will design educational materials, training resources, and engaging lesson plans for volunteer programs.

Wittrock will also help promote the program and provide coverage of events throughout the summer. Her internship begins on May 19th.

Brooke Beardsley: Leadership and Programs

Beardsley, a University of Wisconsin-River Falls student majoring in animal science and agricultural marketing and communications, brings a passion for agriculture and experience in leadership development.

Beardsley will support WFBF's programs for young farmers and agriculturists, including the FFA. Beardsley will also contribute to social media content creation and program promotion across the state. Her internship starts on May 19th.

Katie Cink: Gather Wisconsin

Cink, a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls studying agricultural education, joins the team as the Gather Wisconsin intern.

Gather Wisconsin is WFBF's consumer brand that promotes Wisconsin agriculture. Cink will assist with the day-to-day management and marketing of GatherWisconsin.com, its social media presence, and promotional events throughout the summer. Her internship begins on May 19th.

Kelly Herness: Communications

Herness, a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying agriculture and applied economics, life sciences communication, and public policy, brings a strong background in agriculture and communication.

Her internship began on January 9th. During her time with WFBF, Herness will manage social media channels, create content for various communication platforms, and contribute to the organization's blog.

These four interns represent the future of Wisconsin agriculture. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is committed to supporting their professional development and providing them with valuable learning experiences.
