Many farmers know they need a plan for their farm's future, but starting the conversation can be daunting. This is where the University of Wisconsin-Extension comes in!
They are offering free workshops in January 2025 to help farmers navigate the often-complex world of farm succession planning.
Led by Extension Farm Management Outreach Specialists Joy Kirkpatrick and Kelly Wilfert, these workshops will provide a roadmap for identifying legal risks and initiating those crucial first conversations.
The workshops will cover:
- The importance of farm succession planning
- Recognizing legal considerations in farm transfers
- Strategies for initiating discussions with family or partners
Workshop Dates and Locations:
- Friday, January 10th, 2025 (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
- Location: Mukwonago Community Library (511 Division St, Mukwonago, WI 53149)
- Friday, January 17th, 2025 (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM)
- Location: Dunn County Extension Office (3001 US Highway 12 E, Menomonie, WI 54751)
