Jean Merry Takes on Executive Director Role for American Society of Agricultural Consultants

The American Society of Agricultural Consultants (ASAC) has appointed Jean Merry as their new executive director. With a long track record of professional association management and administrative accomplishments in the ag industry, Merry is expected to contribute to the ongoing success of ASAC as the premier professional development organization for agricultural consultants.

Merry, who currently serves as the vice-president of Countryside Marketing, Inc., has extensive experience in marketing and PR for agricultural clients, including Capital Agricultural Property Services, AgriMacs/Lakeland Realty, McClintock Land Company, and Allied Grape Growers. In addition, she provides creative services for Countryside, including designing reports for the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and newsletter services for a non-profit.

Growing up on a southeast Wisconsin dairy farm, Merry has always had a passion for agriculture. After earning a bachelor's degree, she worked for a power drive component manufacturer for the agricultural and off-highway industries before completing a master's degree in marketing management and joining Capital Agricultural Property Services (CAPS) as their first marketing and PR professional. During her 14 years at CAPS, Merry worked with farm managers around the country, promoting their services within their regions, and was instrumental in the company's growth.

Merry is also an active member of the International Farm Managers Association (IFMA) and the Agricultural Relations Council (ARC), where she was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. Her experience in agriculture extends beyond the United States, as she has traveled to over 60 different countries and principalities, frequently finding opportunities to experience agriculture during her travels.

As the new executive director of ASAC, Merry is expected to bring her experience and passion for agriculture to the leadership team, contributing to the organization's ongoing success in supporting and developing agricultural consultants.
