The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is now accepting nominations for three positions on the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board.
Corn producers from Districts 4, 8, and 9 who actively grow and sell corn are eligible to nominate or be nominated for the board.
District 4 includes Adams, Columbia, Juneau, Marquette, Monroe, and Waushara counties. District 8 covers Jefferson, Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties, while District 9 consists of Green and Rock counties.
To participate, producers must submit a nomination form, which can be requested from DATCP's Market Orders staff by phone at (608) 224-5046 or via email at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov before the October 31, 2024, deadline.
Each nomination form needs the signatures of five eligible corn growers, excluding the nominee. Completed forms should be mailed to DATCP, DAD, PO Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708-8911.
The election for board members will take place between December 5, 2024, and January 10, 2025. Those elected will serve three-year terms beginning on February 1, 2025.
The elections are organized by DATCP to manage the leadership of Wisconsin's commodity marketing boards.
