The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin says another group of speakers are set to take part in the online Dairy Signal program this week.
On Tuesday, Dr. Gail Carpenter with the Iowa State University's Extension Dairy Production Outreach Program will explain how to incorporate alternative feedstuffs such as non-consumable food items in dairy rations.
Will Babler of Atten Babler Commodities will be Wednesday's presenter. He will go over strategies to successfully navigate your dairy business through an environment of both high milk prices and high input costs, and look ahead at what may be in store for the rest of the year.
And on Thursday, Cornell University Dairy Professor Julio Giordano will dive into research about the role that activity monitoring systems on dairy farms can play in predicting fertility as well as how these systems can be used to manage groups of cows based on their activity levels.
All episodes are free and available to the public, accessible from www.pdpw.org. They are streamed live at 12:00 noon or available on demand for later playback.
