The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin says another group of speakers are set to take part in the online Dairy Signal program this week.
On Tuesday, University of Wisconsin-Extension Dairy Specialist Dr. Matt Akins will discuss strategies for controlling growth and feed costs for youngstock ranging from calves through pregnant heifers.
UW-Madison Professors Dr. Nigel Cook, DVM, and Dr. Jennifer Van Os, PhD. will be Wednesday's presenters. They will talk about how microclimates inside barns can affect animal health, production and wellbeing, as well as other trends in housing and animal welfare.
And on Thursday, visitors will ear about the latest consumer research in beef purchasing and promotion from state and national checkoff leaders. Guests include Angie Horkan of Wisconsin Beef Council and Sarah Reece and Mandy Carr Johnson from the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
