The state's largest farm organization has announced it's preference for Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Directors is endorsing incumbent Ron Johnson for the November 8 general election.
"Sen. Johnson has been a steadfast supporter of Wisconsin agriculture," said WFBF Vice President Dave Daniels. "He has played a critical role in the U.S. Senate, supporting policies that expand rural broadband access, clarify food labels for consumers, enhance trade opportunities and many other policies that benefit Wisconsin's agricultural economy."
The farm group further credited Johnson, who is a Republican, for voting in favor of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act, which will increase agricultural exports at a time when our trading partners need U.S. agricultural products more than ever. He also also introduced a measure that would remove the gray wolf from the Endangered Species List and supported the CURD Act, which would formalize the definition of natural cheese to ensure consumers are fully informed when purchasing cheese.
Sen. Johnson is facing Wisconsin Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes.
