Insight FS has awarded ten $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors and college students pursuing a degree in agriculture.
"We are thrilled to help these accomplished young people pursue a career in agriculture," said Insight FS General Manager Ben Huber. "There is so much diversity in the career opportunities within agriculture, we hope to continue to build interest in those careers and help these students reach their goals."
This year's recipients include Shealyn Klosterman, New Glarus, UW-Platteville; Katie Nusbaum, Juda, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College; Owen Zakrzeski, UW-River Falls; Anna Koehler, Jefferson, Iowa State University; Mathew Karls, Waunakee, Milwaukee School of Engineering; Seth Wavrunek, Mishicot, NWTC; Mary Lewandowski, Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Northcentral Technical College; Nicole Plenty, Elkhorn, UW-Platteville; Maryann Gudenkauf, Watertown, UW-Madison; and Owen Huschitt, Southwest Technical College.
Applicants were evaluated on academic achievement, active participation in local and state clubs or groups promoting agriculture and environmental stewardship, leadership potential, and essay responses. To be eligible, student must be the dependent of an employee or patron of Insight FS.
