Wisconsin DATCP to Lead Trade Mission to Expo Prado 2023

Wisconsin DATCP to Lead Trade Mission to Expo Prado 2023

Expo Prado is the largest livestock and agricultural event in Uruguay. Held over 10 days in September, it attracts approximately 450,000 visitors annually. The trade show has been held for over 100 years and is a place for farmers to present their best breeding animals in competitions and to do business.

In addition to livestock, Expo Prado also showcases new and emerging agriculture products and advancements. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) will lead a trade mission to Expo Prado 2023 and invites cattle breeders and agriculture companies to join them. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the South American market, promote their livestock genetics, products, and services, and generate new business opportunities.

About the Market

Uruguay is a small country in South America with a population of about 3.5 million people. However, it is a major producer of beef and dairy products. The dairy sector is particularly important, as it accounts for about 10% of the country's GDP. The event is a major showcase for the latest agriculture products and technologies, and it is a chance for Wisconsin companies to show off their expertise.
