The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension will host a “Ewe Got This - Lambing Basics Workshop” on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The event will take place at the Dunn County Government Center, Room 54, in Menomonie, WI. While the program is designed for sheep producers, goat farmers are also encouraged to attend.
This hands-on workshop is intended to help livestock owners prepare for the upcoming lambing season. Participants will gain practical knowledge on essential topics such as biosecurity, ewe and lamb health, nutrition during lambing, and phases of the lambing process.
Additional sessions will cover lambing kit essentials, record keeping, lamb processing, and caring for bottle lambs.
A highlight of the workshop will be the opportunity to practice with a realistic lambing simulator, provided through the support of the American Sheep Industry Association.
The registration fee is $20 per person, which includes training materials and lunch. Pre-registration is required by September 12. Interested participants can register online at https://forms.gle/cPaDN3YFAHoCceia7
