Boost Your Health - Sleep Strategies for Dairy Workers

By Blake Jackson

Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) will present a week of educational episodes on The Dairy Signal, covering topics essential for dairy farm management. This week's sessions focus on financial, personal, and animal health.

  • On Tuesday, February 25th, Troy Schneider, an attorney from Menn Law Firm, will discuss carbon credit contracts. Troy will review different contract types and advise producers on key considerations, helping them navigate this evolving area of farm finance.
  • Wednesday, February 26th, Morgan Ekovich, a health and nutrition coach, will address the importance of sleep. Morgan will share strategies for developing healthy sleep habits, crucial for both physical and mental well-being in the demanding dairy industry.
  • Thursday, February 27th, Dr. Jennifer Van Os from the University of Wisconsin-Madison will delve into calf housing approaches. The discussion will cover group housing, young animal enrichment, and comparisons between pair, group, and single housing systems, providing insights for optimal calf development.

This week's episodes are sponsored by Acepsis, a Wisconsin-based company specializing in hygiene technologies for dairy herds. Their products, primarily utilizing chlorine-dioxide, address animal hygiene (teat dips), water treatment, and facility sanitation.

The Dairy Signal episodes are accredited by Dairy AdvanCE (DACE), allowing viewers to earn continuing education units (CEUs). Dairy AdvanCE is an online platform simplifying the tracking and management of CEUs for dairy professionals.

Viewers can earn CEUs by watching live or recorded episodes. For more information, visit DairyAdvanCE.org.
