The 2025 White House Easter Egg Roll was not only a celebration of spring but also of the agricultural sector’s success in overcoming recent challenges. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins joined egg producers at the event, highlighting a major rebound in the egg industry.
Over the past year, egg farmers struggled with the effects of a bird flu outbreak that impacted both production and consumer prices. This led to shortages and high costs for families across the country. But with leadership and a focused five-point strategy, the situation has changed.
The Secretary emphasized how the Government’s action plan helped curb the spread of the disease and stabilize egg supplies. As a result, wholesale egg prices have dropped by 56 percent just before the Easter holiday.
“The White House Easter Egg Roll is the yearly Super Bowl for eggs! Egg farmers and consumers were hit hard by the negative impacts of the bird flu this past year, but, thankfully under President Trump’s leadership, our five-point plan to combat avian flu and lower egg prices is working. Going into Easter weekend, wholesale egg prices are down 56 percent! This historic event is a great opportunity to celebrate this progress alongside America’s hard working egg farmers,” said Secretary Rollins.
Egg producers welcomed the recognition and the positive changes. Their work, along with federal support, made the event more meaningful than ever.
The Easter Egg Roll continues to be a joyful gathering, but this year, it also served as a symbol of determination and agricultural recovery. It reminded everyone how food systems and national celebrations are closely connected.
With smiles, eggs, and gratitude, the day was a hopeful sign of what farmers and policymakers can achieve together.
