The Wisconsin Farmers Union (WFU) announces the second season of its podcast, "Farmer-Labor Podcast," a series exploring the power dynamics within the agricultural sector.
Hosted by Zoe Sullivan, the five-episode season delves into the critical need for collaboration between farmers and workers across the food system.
"We often see those at both ends of the food chain pitted against each other in the fight for fair compensation," says Lauren Langworthy, Director of Special Projects at WFU. "Meanwhile, large corporations exploit the system, leaving workers struggling for basic rights.
This season underscores the importance of fostering understanding between farmers, laborers, and consumers through shared stories and perspectives. Recognizing how systemic issues like consolidation, low prices, and unequal access negatively impact everyone involved is key to achieving positive change."
Season two features insightful voices from within the Farmers Union, Wisconsin, and beyond, building a compelling case for farmer-worker solidarity across the food system. Each episode offers in-depth discussions and personal narratives that illuminate the challenges and triumphs faced by the agricultural community.
The podcast is freely available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and the Wisconsin Farmers Union website, with new episodes released every Tuesday starting June 4th.
