Two state produce growers have been elected to serve on the Potatoes USA board of directors.
Charlie Husnick of Baginski Farms in Antigo and J.D. Schroeder from Schroeder Bros. Farms of Antigo will each serve three-year terms on the board, starting in March 2023. They will replace retiring directors Erin Baginski and Keith Wolter, both of Antigo.
The two newly-elected directors will join four other board members from Wisconsin to serve on the panel. The group is responsible for representing growers' interests and keeping them informed on how the checkoff is fulfilling needs and maximizing returns.
Each year, board members are nominated by the industry and are then appointed by the secretary of agriculture to serve on the board.
