Now that the general election has been completed, legislators within the Badger State will begin making appointments to various leadership positions.
On Thursday, Speaker Robin Vos of Rochester was re-elected to serve as Assembly Speaker for the 2023-24 session by the Republican majority caucus.
"I'm honored that my colleagues have re-elected me to serve as the Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly," Speaker Vos said. "I look forward to leading our 64-member majority and defending conservative principles in the Legislature."
Vos, who has been chosen for the ranking for a sixth term, is the 75th and longest-serving Assembly speaker in Wisconsin history.
Meanwhile, Rep. Kevin Petersen of Waupaca will serve as Speaker Pro Tempore and Tyler August, Lake Geneva, will become Majority Leader.
The new legislative session begins in early January.
