Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) will offer valuable insights for dairy producers for this week's episodes of The Dairy Signal, focusing on financial planning and growing season preparation. The series will cover farm insurance, cover crops, and market news.
- On Tuesday, February 18th, Sara Grade from Rural Mutual Insurance Company will discuss farm insurance. The session will explore how to avoid being under or over-insured, while also addressing the various risks involved in farm operations.
- Wednesday, February 19th will feature Matthew Oehmichen from Short Lane Ag Supply, who will lead an interactive discussion on cover crops. The session will delve into the suitability of cover crops for different farms, management considerations, and how to select the right species or blends.
- Thursday, February 20th will provide a market news update with Ben Buckner from AgResource Company. The session will cover the latest market trends, export data, and weather news influencing agricultural and dairy markets, particularly as producers look ahead to the 2025 growing season.
