The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service will conduct its Commercial Floriculture Survey in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa over the next month.
Between January 1 and February 15, over 900 growers will be asked to provide information on production area, sales of floriculture commodities and the number of agricultural workers on their operation.
The floriculture survey is a census of commercial floriculture operations that annually produce and that sell at least $10,000 worth of fresh cut flowers, potted flowering plants, foliage plants, annual bedding and garden plants, herbaceous perennials, cut cultivated florist greens, propagative program, including peppers, herbs, lavender as well as cacti and succulents.
The agency will compile and analyze the survey information and publish the results in the May 2023 Floriculture Crops report.
As with all USDA surveys, the information respondents provide will remain confidential.
