Four Wisconsin dairy farming families are extending an open invitation to the public to explore their operations during the 2024 Agricultural Community Engagement (ACE) Twilight Meetings.
These free events will take place from August 26 to 29 in St. Croix, Wood, Kewaunee, and Columbia counties, offering a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insight into modern dairy farming.
Attendees will embark on guided tours of the host farms, witnessing firsthand the care and attention given to the animals, the innovative technologies employed, and the overall management of these complex agricultural operations.
Following the farm tours, participants will have the opportunity to savor ice cream and engage in open-ended discussions about a range of community-centric issues.
The ACE Twilight Meetings serve as a vital platform for fostering dialogue between the agricultural community and the broader public.
By bringing together farmers, elected officials, business leaders, and community members, these events aim to create a space for shared understanding, idea exchange, and collaboration.
Key topics on the agenda include water conservation, transportation infrastructure, educational opportunities, and the preservation of shared resources.
The organizers, Professional Dairy Producers, Wisconsin Counties Association, and Wisconsin Towns Association, envision these gatherings as catalysts for strengthening rural communities and addressing mutual concerns.
Beyond providing a glimpse into the world of dairy farming, the ACE Twilight Meetings seek to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the industry's role in the local economy and the environment. By promoting transparency and open communication, these events contribute to building trust and fostering a sense of shared responsibility for the future of rural Wisconsin.
