The second annual Wisconsin Meat Industry Coalition Conference will be held November 1-3 at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The conference is open to livestock producers, meat processors of all sizes, and others affiliated with supporting these groups.
The conference was established to:
- Explore common interests among the various sectors of meat animal industries
- Develop a more unified industry voice
- Identify collaborative opportunities with high impact
The keynote speaker for the conference is Dennis Vignieri of Birchwood Foods, speaking on the topic of “The Pursuit of Change: The Kenosha Beef/Birchwood Story.” Attendees will also hear from industry leaders on the latest:
- Consumer trends
- Industry issues
- Workforce talent development initiatives
- Funding and grants
- Other approaches to growing businesses in Wisconsin
- There will be ample opportunities for networking during the conference.
The Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame Induction will be held on the evening of November 2 at the conference, honoring:
Bob Hanson of HansonTech LLC
- Duane (Dewey) Wachholz, a professor emeritus from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls
The conference also includes a presentation of meat industry scholarships and awards.
