Retired farm broadcaster Bob Meyer of Loyal will be among four individuals inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame this year. Meyer served as farm director of the Marshfield-based Goetz Farm Radio Network and then Brownfield Ag News for nearly 30 years, where he was heard on radio stations across the state delivering farm news, market reports and special features. He also hosted the statewide farm radio program, Daybreak, for many years, and has served as the morning announcer on WDLB Radio in Marshfield.
During his long career, Bob conducted more than 20,000 interviews with newsmakers and people of interest in agriculture. He also served on numerous boards and committees and earned numerous honors for his dedication to spreading the news about agriculture in Wisconsin.
For the past 30 years he has been 'the voice' of the annual Wisconsin State FFA Convention.
Meyer retired from broadcasting in 2016 and served another five years in the ag lending industry. He will be honored during a special ceremony in June.
