The USDA announced that the September Federal Order Class III milk price fell to $19.82 per hundredweight. That was 28-cents lower for the month, but $3.29 above September 2021.
The benchmark price recently set a new all-time record high of $25.21 in May of this year.
So far, the Class III price has averaged $22.23 during 2022.
The Class IV component price was 18-cents lower for the month at $24.63, but $8.27 more than last year.
