Cattle handling facilities and herd health topics will be the focus of upcoming statewide On-Farm Cow-Calf Workshops. The forums are being sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour and discussion the host farms' cattle handling/ working facilities.
There will also be presentations about herd health and preconditioning, as well as upcoming changes to purchasing antibiotics.
The meetings will be held on September 21 at Brian and Lori McCulloh's Woodhill Farms near Viroqua (call 608-269-8722), September 26 at Jim Ellis Farm in Independence (call 608-685-6256), and October 1 at Kevin Ruland and Hollow Point Angus (call 715-748-3327).
