Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) representatives recently attended the U.S. Grains Council meetings in Salt Lake City to advocate for key agricultural export and trade priorities.
The focus was on expanding international trade relationships and promoting sustainable farming practices. Iowa corn farmers stressed the need to increase global demand for corn and ensure the competitiveness of U.S. corn on the international stage.
During the annual Board of Delegates meeting, Curt Mether, a past ICGA Board Member, was reelected to an At-Large position on the U.S. Grains Council Board. This reelection highlights his commitment to the agriculture industry and his role in shaping its future.
In this position, Mether will help direct the Grains Council and represent grain producers both nationally and internationally.
"Coming together at meetings like this with growers from across the country and staff from around the world allows us to discuss expanding export markets," said Mether. "I am honored to represent Iowa and hope to push for more corn export opportunities."
The U.S. Grains Council meetings provided a valuable platform for Iowa corn leaders to network with global stakeholders, discuss market trends, and explore collaboration opportunities.
