The Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association will honor one of its longtime supporters next month with its Daluge Red Jacket Award. The late-Bob Kaczmarek will be recognized posthumously during the WALSAA Football Fire-Up on September 7 in Madison.
Kaczmarek graduated from UW-Madison with a bachelor's degree in construction administration, and received a master's degree in business administration from UW-Milwaukee.
Bob served on the WALSAA Board for nine years and was president of the organization in 1997-98. He also served the organization as treasurer during its transition from Ag Hall to a self-sufficient organization. Before his sudden health challenges, he worked behind the scenes to set up the group's scholarship fund.
Often known as 'Badger Bob,' he led the Kenosha area efforts for Wisconsin Alumni Association, sharing his pride for the UW in the southeast region.
The award honors Rick Daluge, who was WALSAA's executive director for many years and a founding member of the National Ag Alumni and Development Association. He also served as CALS Placement Director and CALS Assistant Dean before retiring in 2008.
A red jacket will be presented each year to someone who helped WALSAA through means of support.
