Vote for Wisconsin Corn Board nominees by January 10, 2025

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has certified three nominees eligible for election to the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board's Board of Directors. Corn producers in the impacted districts will have until January 10, 2025, to vote for their preferred candidates.

  • District 4 Nominee: Cal Dalton, Endeavor (representing Adams, Columbia, Juneau, Marquette, Monroe, and Waushara counties)
  • District 8 Nominee: Casey Kelleher, Whitewater (representing Jefferson, Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties)
  • District 9 Nominee: Whilden R. Hughes, Janesville (representing Green and Rock counties)

DATCP has confirmed that all candidates meet the necessary qualifications, which include actively producing corn, selling it through commercial channels, and residing within their respective districts.

To ensure ease of participation, DATCP has sent mail-in ballots to eligible corn producers residing in the three districts. Producers who do not receive a ballot by December 18, 2024, are encouraged to request one by emailing DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov.

To cast a vote, completed ballots must be signed and mailed to WI DATCP Market Orders Program, P.O. Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708. Ballots must be postmarked no later than January 10, 2025.

The election results are expected to be announced early in 2025. Successful candidates will serve a three-year term starting on February 1, 2025.

This election provides corn producers with an opportunity to influence decisions impacting their industry while supporting the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board's mission to promote and develop the state’s corn market.
