WFBF seeks applicants for young farmer awards

WFBF seeks applicants for young farmer awards

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau (WFBF) is seeking applications for its Young Farmer and Agriculturist (YFA) program's two annual awards: the Farming for the Future Award and the Outstanding Agriculture Professional Award.

The Farming for the Future Award recognizes young farmers actively involved in farm operations, while the Outstanding Agriculture Professional Award honors individuals with off-farm careers who contribute significantly to the agricultural sector.

Applicants are evaluated based on their agricultural contributions, leadership qualities, and involvement in the WFBF. Winners receive a $1,500 cash prize, a trip to the American Farm Bureau Federation conference, and an opportunity to participate in national events.

The WFBF YFA program aims to engage young individuals (aged 18-35) in agriculture through various networking, learning, and social activities. Funded by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation, the program fosters the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Applications for both awards are available online and close on June 1st. The WFBF YFA program encourages all eligible individuals to apply and contribute to the future of agriculture.
