The Wisconsin Beef Council has revealed the top contenders in their quest to find the state's best burger. Eight restaurants, nominated by the public over the past month, have been chosen to compete for the coveted title. These finalists include Brazen Head Pub, Crafty Cow, Dog House Bar & Grill, Ferry Xing Bar & Grill, Pickles Bar & Grill, Skippy's Burger Bar, Straight Home Bar & Grill, and The Dump Bar & Grill.
A team of anonymous judges will embark on a delicious journey, visiting each restaurant to meticulously evaluate their signature burgers. The winning burger will be crowned on May 1st, kicking off National Beef Month in a celebratory fashion.
Taste will be the biggest factor, accounting for half the score. Appearance, proper cooking, and overall enjoyment will also be significant considerations. To add a touch of subjectivity, the judges may award bonus points for the ambiance and atmosphere of the dining experience.
The competition is fierce, but the guidelines are clear. All burgers must be 100% beef, with creative freedom allowed for additional ingredients like spices and vegetables. They must be built on a bun or similar bread product, with any combination of classic condiments, sauces, cheeses, and toppings. The key is that everything must be delightfully sandwiched between the buns, creating a handheld masterpiece.
