Wisconsin FFA Convention Returns to Madison

FFA members from across the state will have their chance to shine next week as the 93rd Wisconsin FFA Convention kicks-off at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Organizers are expecting over 3,000 students, supporters and guests this year, where they will focus on the theme: 'The Time is Now.'

The event kicks-off with a State Officer Reflections program on Monday evening, followed by contests, general sessions and entertainment throughout the week.

In the convention hall, attendees will get to hear addresses by National FFA Vice President Cortney Zimmerman of Wisconsin and State Agriculture Secretary Randy Romanski. State FFA President Ben Styer will also deliver his retiring address.

"Students enrolled in agricultural education in Wisconsin schools and who are members of the FFA have a fantastic opportunity for leadership and career development," said State FFA Director Cheryl Zimmerman. "The Wisconsin FFA Convention is our opportunity to recognize the importance of the education of our society about agriculture and the achievement of young people who are the future leaders of the agriculture industry."

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin FFA Foundation will again sponsor its Life-Work Expo, where agribusinesses will be on display to explain various career choices to the members. The group will also honor its top sponsors for the past year. And over 300 members will earn their State FFA Degree.

It all wraps up with the naming of the new State FFA President and National Chapter Award winner on Thursday.
