Celebration of manufacturing - Weiler to kick off AEM

By Jamie Martin

Weiler, a prominent Knoxville employer, is set to host the inaugural event of the "Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Manufacturing Express" on July 1, 2024.

This event marks a significant milestone for Weiler, recognizing its role as a key player in the local and national manufacturing landscapes.

Established less than 25 years ago, Weiler has rapidly grown into a major force in the manufacturing sector, boasting over 400,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space.

The facility, which features state-of-the-art machining, welding, and assembly capabilities, plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality production of machine components. With over 675 employees in a town of just 7,500 people, Weiler stands as a pillar of economic stability and growth in Marion County.

The AEM Manufacturing Express event at Weiler will serve not only as a celebration of the company's achievements but also as a platform to educate policymakers, media, and the public about the importance of manufacturing to the U.S. economy.

Pat Weiler, the company’s founder and president, emphasized the event as a showcase of American manufacturing prowess and its contributions to economic growth and innovation.

The national tour of the AEM Manufacturing Express includes stops in over 20 states at 80 manufacturing facilities, highlighting the cutting-edge technology and innovation within the equipment manufacturing industry.

Megan Tanel, president of AEM, noted the tour's role in sharing the stories of the workforce whose determination and spirit underpin the American manufacturing sector.

The event in Knoxville will feature not just formal presentations but also community-focused festivities, including games, food, and prize giveaways, making it a celebratory day for attendees.
