Denk Named State FFA President, Denmark is Top Chapter



The Wisconsin FFA Association has a new president. Casey Denk of the Mondovi FFA Chapter was elected during the closing session of the 93rd Wisconsin FFA Convention on Thursday to replace out-going leader Ben Styer of the Menomonie FFA.

Denk is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-River Falls majoring in Agriculture Business with a minor in Animal Science. She hopes to stay active in the agriculture industry and her family's livestock farm after graduating from college..

"Throughout my time in FFA, I learned to be comfortable and confident and not to fear new situations," Denk said. "I look forward to spending my year giving members opportunities to grow while serving as a leader and role model for young members."

Other members of the newly elected 2021-22 state officer team include Isaac Hopke, Spooner, secretary; Heidi Strey, Osseo-Fairchild, vice president; Kendra Goplin, Whitehall, reporter; Jeremiah Ihm, Lancaster, vice president; Rhylie Gough, Albany, vice president; Cole Hicken, Waupun, treasurer; Devani Hinkelmann, Loyal, vice president; Brooke Casey, New London, vice president; Evan Mennen, Bay Port, parliamentarian; and Mary Schrieber, East Troy, sentinel.

Also on Thursday, the Denmark FFA was named the winner of the National Chapter Award. Baldwin FFA took top honors in the traditional scrap book contest, with Badger FFA winning the new digital scrap book competition.

The annual conference was attended by nearly 3,500 students, family and supporters. All of the events took place at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
