The Northwest Wisconsin Graziers Network is teaming up for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Forage Project and UW-Madison Extension in hosting this year's fall grazing conference in Shell Lake next month. The event takes place on November 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The conference will be held at the Shell Lake Community Center in Washburn County, where attendees will experience an informative and friendly networking environment to learn about grazing fundamentals, cattle stockmanship and handling facilities, wildlife and grazing ecology and future grazing programs. The conference should be of interest to new farmers, part-time or full-time operators, low-income startups, graziers or non-graziers. Several agency and commercial exhibitors will be available to network with throughout the day.
Some of the topics will include the basic principals of grazing, designing proper handling facilities, and watch a panel discussion.
Advance registration for the conference is due by November 1. For more information or to register, call 218-206-4351.
