New Holland's specialty tractors featuring an innovative LiDAR-based guidance system have received a Technical Innovation award at the EIMA International farm machinery exhibition in Bologna, Italy. This cutting-edge technology, known as Advanced Vision Assisted Guidance, enhances tractor operation by replacing traditional GPS systems with more reliable LiDAR sensors.
The new system allows for precise in-row guidance, headland turns, and implement control, significantly improving safety and efficiency on farms. It has been designed to ease the burden on farm operators by reducing fatigue and enabling less experienced personnel to perform complex tasks with greater accuracy.
The absence of GPS eliminates risks associated with signal loss due to obstacles like tree canopies or terrain features, further bolstering its effectiveness in diverse farming environments.
In addition to the guidance system, New Holland also received accolades for its Seed Terminator and CropSpeed systems.
The Seed Terminator, attached to CR combine harvesters, targets weed seeds during harvesting, reducing herbicide reliance and enhancing sustainable farming practices. Meanwhile, the CropSpeed system in FR forage harvesters uses radar sensors to prevent blockages, optimizing machine performance.
These recognitions at one of Europe's top agriculture machinery events underscore New Holland's commitment to advancing agricultural technology. Through continuous innovation and development, New Holland supports farmers worldwide by improving the efficiency and sustainability of their operations.
