The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation, also known as Dairy's Foundation®, has recently awarded grants to five programs across the country that focus on strengthening and supporting healthy dairy communities.
Brian Forrest, Dairy's Foundation board chair and a dairy producer from Stratford, Wis., expressed excitement about funding programs aligned with the foundation's vision of a professional, proactive, and prepared dairy community. The grants were made possible thanks to generous support from dairy producers and businesses.
The following programs will benefit from the funding:
- Campbellsport School District Agriculture Department, Campbellsport, Wisconsin: The grant will upgrade the animal lab to enhance biosecurity, animal welfare, and student safety.
- Dr. Genie's Kids Inc./Little Medical School, St. Louis, Missouri: The grant will support the creation of a Farm Veterinarian School to introduce students to various aspects of farm veterinary medicine.
- National 4-H Dairy Conference, Madison, Wisconsin: The grant will support a seminar speaker at this educational conference, providing youth with a better understanding of dairy production and related careers.
- Tennessee FFA Foundation, Tennessee: The grant will support the Dairy Cattle Evaluation and Management Career Development Event, offering hands-on educational experiences for FFA members in dairy herd management.
- Waukesha County Historical Society and Museum, Waukesha, Wisconsin: The grant will support an Agriculture Legacies Exhibit, spotlighting the history and impact of dairy farming in Waukesha County.
The Dairy's Foundation aims to promote professionalism among dairy producers and foster public trust.
