Calling all Wisconsin pork producers! The Wisconsin Pork Association and UW-Extension are hosting a valuable educational event designed to enhance your swine reproduction skills.

This Swine Reproduction Workshop takes place on July 23rd, 2024, at Minitube USA's headquarters in Verona, WI.

The day kicks off with a complimentary lunch, followed by a unique opportunity to tour Minitube USA's facilities. Here, you'll gain valuable insights into industry practices.

The afternoon program delves into the science and strategies behind successful swine reproduction. Renowned industry expert John Quackenbush, CCO, and his team will share their knowledge on crucial topics like:

  • Semen Storage and Handling: Learn proper techniques for semen storage and handling to ensure optimal sperm viability.
  • Sow Breeding and Boar Collection: Gain insights into effective breeding practices, including demonstrations using Minitube's sow simulator.
  • Swine Health Management: Explore best practices for maintaining herd health, including vaccination considerations.
  • Biosecurity and Swine Health Improvement Plan (SHIP): Understand the importance of biosecurity measures and how the SHIP program can benefit your operation.
