Wisconsin Soybean Program Seeking New Director

Board members of the Wisconsin Soybean Association and Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board are now searching for a new executive director to replace long-time leader Bob Karls, who passed away unexpectedly last month.

Tony Mellenthin, who serves as a member of the WSB, tells Brownfield Ag News that a transition team has been put into place to help with the process.

"A group out of Minnesota that's going to help facilitate us in the interim, Ag Management Solutions, they work with various non-profit agricultural groups," Mellenthin told the farm radio network. "We have a team of individuals who are helping all through this time as we transition into finding a permanent executive director."

The groups say they will take plenty of time to find the right candidates before selecting a new leader. He hopes the final decision will be made before the winter meeting season at the end of the year.

Karls worked for the Wisconsin Soybean Program more than 30 years until his death on April 2.
