Farm Wisconsin hosts dairy tours at Science Festival Oct 19

By Blake Jackson

Agriculture takes center stage at this year's Wisconsin Science Festival, and Farm Wisconsin is proud to participate with special activities, including farm bus tours.

On Saturday, October 19, from 9 AM to 1 PM, guests of the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center will have the unique opportunity to embark on a family field trip to Grotegut Dairy Farm. This special event is included with regular admission.

“We are thrilled to participate in this statewide event and offer guests unique activities,” shares Abigail Winkel, brand manager. “Thanks to our partnership with the Wisconsin Science Festival, visitors on Saturday will have the same opportunity our school field trips have, to go behind the scenes and quite literally into the barn of a local, family-owned dairy farm.”

Bus tours to the dairy farm will be available at 10 AM, 11 AM, and 12 PM on a first-come, first-served basis. Farm Wisconsin tour guides will lead each tour, providing guests with the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the dairy farming process.

In addition to the bus tours, Farm Wisconsin will host numerous interactive activities showcasing the diversity of Wisconsin agriculture.

Visitors will discover how science plays a crucial role in food, fuel, and fiber production. Highlights include a new corn maze and cranberry exploration courtesy of the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association.

The Wisconsin Science Festival is an annual event celebrating science and innovation. The festival features various activities throughout Wisconsin, including hands-on experiments, Q&A sessions, demonstrations, performances, and tours. This year's theme, agriculture, highlights the importance of this industry in Wisconsin.
